The Hilton Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey, hosted the work of the Council of the Socialist International Women with the participation of a delegation from the Union of Women of the Sahrawi Movement for Peace (MSP) led by Meimouna Dleimi, member of the Central Committee of the MSP and president of the Women's Committee.

The delegation met with numerous participating delegations and held a meeting with the president of the Socialist International Women, Jannet Camilo.

The talks focused on the situation in Western Sahara and the MSP's commitment to promoting a peaceful solution that will put an end to the tragedy of the Saharawi people, especially the population of the refugee camps in Tindouf.

They also highlighted that the MSP has emerged to promote democracy and multipartyism in Sahrawi society after half a century of the single-party system represented by the Polisario Front.

The delegation presented Jannet Camilo with the MSP's political programme and its proposal for a political solution to the problem of Western Sahara, which is based on a compromise formula in which there are no winners or losers.

It also held meetings with other participating delegations.

Meimouna Dleimi was accompanied by Fatma Daud, chair of the MSP Committee for Civil Society, Mokhtara Lareibi, from the Ouad Deheb Coordination Committee, and Saadani Ahel Bah, from the MSP Centre for Political and Strategic Studies.
