New Israeli bombings on Gaza
Israel continues to launch serious attacks on the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire agreed at the beginning of October and the peace plan promoted by US President Donald Trump, which had recently been approved by the parties and even by the United Nations (UN) Security Council, although not by the Palestinian side represented by Hamas.
In recent hours, the latest Israeli bombings have left more than 30 dead, including more than a dozen children, and nearly 90 wounded, according to figures released by the Gaza Ministry of Health. According to the Gaza government, led by the Palestinian extremist group Hamas, more than 310 Gazans have been killed in Israeli military attacks since the ceasefire was agreed on 10 October.
Hamas remains adamant in its refusal to accept the peace plan for Gaza agreed upon by the parties involved, endorsed by the UN and led by Donald Trump, which provided for the establishment of an international security force in the Gaza Strip until December 2027, the formation of a transitional government led by Trump himself and respecting the 20-point plan proposed at the time by the US president, which envisaged establishing a ceasefire for Gaza, the return of Israeli hostages, the establishment of a transitional government for the territory, the disarmament of Hamas, the deradicalisation of Gaza and its liberation from terrorism, the reconstruction of the territory, the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel, the proper entry and distribution of aid in Gaza, etc.
Meanwhile, Israel has already made it clear that it demands Hamas' removal from power and its disarmament, and therefore continues to harass the Gaza Strip as the Palestinian extremist group continues its activity in Palestinian territory. There are mutual accusations between Israel and Hamas of ceasefire violations by both sides, and so the conflict continues.
Israel justified the latest bombings by Palestinian attacks against Israeli Army soldiers in the area. "Several terrorists opened fire on IDF (Israel Defence Forces) soldiers operating in Khan Yunis. This action constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement. In response, the IDF began attacking terrorist targets throughout Gaza," the Israeli Army said via social media.
Meanwhile, attacks by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank also continue. Several Palestinian citizens were injured by these attacks, further straining the situation.
Therefore, the armed conflict continues, with a fragile ceasefire in place in relation to Gaza. This military confrontation began in response to the terrible attacks carried out by Hamas on Israeli territory on 7 October 2023, which left 1,200 dead and 250 people kidnapped. In response, Israel launched an immediate military offensive on the Gaza Strip, which is still ongoing and has already claimed tens of thousands of victims.
Attack on Lebanon
Meanwhile, the Israeli Army has also continued its attacks in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire also agreed with the armed militia of Hezbollah. ‘The IDF is currently striking several Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites in southern Lebanon,’ according to a statement by the Hebrew Armed Forces on social media, which also denounced the existence of ‘several weapons storage facilities belonging to Hezbollah's rocket unit in the heart of a civilian population in southern Lebanon,’ which are the target of Israeli attacks.
Israel thus accuses Hezbollah of using civilians as human shields, in violation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement signed between the warring parties.
Hezbollah also continues to escalate tensions with Israel in opposition to the military offensive deployed by Israel on the Gaza Strip for more than two years.
