Libya requests that Benghazi host the Arab Parliamentary Union

Libya has presented an official request for Benghazi to host the Arab Parliamentary Union. 

The spokesman for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq, said that the members of the Executive Committee of the Union discussed Libya's request to host the headquarters of the Union during its extraordinary meeting held yesterday, Sunday, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. 

The member of the House of Representatives and the Arab Parliament - Representative Abdul Salam Nasiya participated in the meeting during which the report of the special committee studying the amendment of the Union's charter was discussed. 

The members of the Union agreed to hold the thirty-eighth session of the Union in Algeria during the first half of next May, and to approve the final account of the Union's budget for the year 2024.
