The 93rd General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), held from November 24 to 27 in Marrakech, stands as an international recognition of Morocco’s decisive contribution to global security. According to the Organization’s president, Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, hosting this event reflects the international community’s ongoing trust in Morocco’s security commitment.

During a press conference, Al-Raisi praised Morocco’s hospitality, describing the Kingdom as a “country of security and peace,” deeply committed to international police cooperation. He stressed that Morocco firmly believes global security is a shared responsibility requiring collective action—a vision INTERPOL considers exemplary.

The INTERPOL president affirmed that the organization of this major event confirms Morocco’s central role in initiatives and actions aimed at strengthening international security. Morocco, he noted, provides constant support to the Organization’s programs and stands out as a key actor in global security forums.

Al-Raisi also highlighted Morocco’s unique geostrategic position, located at the crossroads of Africa, the Arab world, and Europe. This privileged location allows the country to contribute actively to intercontinental cooperation and the secure circulation of information between regions.

Addressing current challenges, such as cybersecurity and transnational crime, the president recalled that Morocco had already hosted global security officials in 2007. According to him, this recurrence demonstrates the importance the Kingdom places on reinforcing ties between INTERPOL’s member states.

He further emphasized Morocco’s significant contribution to African security. As INTERPOL’s vice-president for Africa, Morocco plays an active role in training, coordination, and joint operations, regularly ranking among the first countries engaged on the ground.

Finally, Al-Raisi welcomed the progress achieved under his tenure, particularly in international cooperation, data expansion, women’s participation, and continental representation. He also expressed INTERPOL’s confidence in Morocco’s ability to successfully host the 2025 AFCON and the 2030 World Cup
