Massive attack and anti-aircraft alert activated throughout Ukraine

The Ukrainian capital, Kiev, recorded this afternoon several explosions that activated the anti-aircraft alarms, confirmed the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, while the heads of several regional administrations also reported missile attacks. 

"Attack on the capital. According to preliminary information, two residential buildings were hit in the Pechersk district. Several missiles were shot down by the air defence over Kiev," he wrote in a message on Telegram, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. 

The portal adds that residents on the left and right banks confirmed hearing explosions in the city. 

At least two explosions were also heard in Lviv (west), as confirmed by its mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, according to whom part of the city has lost electricity. 

"The enemy attacked a critical energy infrastructure facility in the Lviv region. In Lviv there are problems with the electricity supply and disruptions in mobile telephony," said the head of the regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

The heads of the regional administrations of Kryvyy Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul; Mykolaiv, Vitaly Kim; Chernihiv, Vyacheslav Chaus; Cherkasy, Ihor Taburets; Poltava, Dmytro Lunin; and Kharkiv, Oleh Sinegubov, also reported the Russian missile attack and called on the population to stay in shelters. 

As of 14.45 local time, an air raid alert has been in effect throughout Ukraine for possible missile attacks. 

Meanwhile, Oleksy Arestovich, advisor to the Ukrainian Presidential Office, sent a message to the G20 and questioned the supposed progress made during the summit. 

"Hey, G20. What about progress and negotiations?" he wrote on his Twitter account, where shortly before he reported the massive missile launch in Ukraine by Russia and linked it to the summit that started today in Bali.
