"On the basis of Our commitment to peace and in Our capacity as chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, We have called for an awakening of human conscience to put an end to the massacre of human lives, which the Most High has honored, and to act together, each in his position, to achieve four urgent priorities", Mohammed VI stressed in his speech, read by the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch:

First: Bring about an urgent and concrete de-escalation, put an end to military aggression, to achieve a lasting and verifiable ceasefire;

Second: Ensure the protection of civilians so that they cease to be a target, in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law;

Third: Allow the free flow of humanitarian aid in sufficient quantities to the population of Gaza;

Fourth: Project a political perspective for the Palestinian issue that can revive the two-state solution as agreed by the international community."

"We are facing an unprecedented crisis, exacerbated by Israel's persistence in its blatant aggression against unarmed civilians, and complicated, moreover, by the silence of the international community, in a context of indifference of the powers acting in "with regard to the human tragedy suffered by the population of the Gaza Strip." continued the King, noting that it is up to the international community and "all of us to work so that the future of the region and that of its people and its children is not mortgaged by the partisans of superiority".

In this sense, he maintained that the future of the region cannot, in fact, tolerate empty bids, and even less so narrow agendas and calculations, assuring that this crucial situation must be understood by attributing to the organization the historical responsibility on which it is based on four postulates.

The first postulate is that "there is no alternative to a real peace in the region that guarantees the Palestinians their legitimate rights within the framework of the two-state solution," while the second is that "there is no alternative to an independent Palestinian state with Al Quds-East as its capital." the King affirmed and stressed that "there is no alternative to the strengthening of the Palestinian Authority, under the leadership of my brother, President Mahmoud Abbas Abou Mazen", and, finally, he said that "there is no alternative to the establishment of mechanisms for sustainable regional security, based on respect for international law and related norms, as universally recognized".

The King of Morocco also recalled that this Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit is taking place in a context marked by tension and the continuation of armed clashes in the Gaza Strip, causing thousands of deaths and injuries among an unarmed civilian population, in a context of chaos and total blockade, in flagrant violation of international law and human values.

"Although wise voices have been raised calling for a reduction of tensions and calm, Israeli artillery and missiles continue to target unarmed civilians, including children, women and the elderly. Neither places of worship, nor hospitals, nor camps were spared, totally or partially destroyed," the Sovereign lamented.

"Overcoming this crisis and preventing its recurrence will only be possible through the cessation of attacks on Al-Quds Acharif and provocations that offend the feelings of more than one billion Muslims," His Majesty the King noted in his speech.

And the Sovereign added that "in our capacity as chairman of the Al Quds Committee, we have always endeavored to draw attention to the seriousness of these Israeli actions and provocations and their disastrous consequences for the security and stability of the region as a whole." He noted that at the same time actions are being deployed on the ground, through the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, with a view to safeguarding the Holy City and preserving its historical and legal status, as well as its holy sites.

In this capacity, he indicated that, as stated in the "Al Quds Appeal", signed by Mohammed Vi with Pope Francis, safeguarding the city of Al Quds Acharif is the responsibility of all as a common community. heritage of humanity and a symbol of the values of mutual respect.

"Whoever thinks that the logic of the strongest can alter this reality or disguise this consolidated identity is lost. He will inevitably find Us facing him, in our capacity as chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in coordination with Our Brother, His Majesty King Abdullah II, Guardian of the Holy Places of Islam and Christianity in Al-Quds," warned the King of Morocco.

He concluded that "we are at a decisive turning point that requires firmness and responsibility from all to put an end to Israeli aggression," maintaining that this stage also requires that reason and wisdom prevail to establish a just and lasting peace. development of the region, capable of ensuring the security and stability of all its peoples.
