Mohammed VI congratulates Trump highlighting the historic and strategic partnership between Morocco and the US
This Monday, Morocco's Ambassador to Washington, Youssef Amrani, participated in the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump as 47th President of the United States.
The ceremony, held on Capitol Hill, brought together prominent US political leaders and lawmakers, as well as important foreign diplomats and representatives of the US private sector and civil society.
After the ceremony, Amrani told the press that ‘the clear and strong message contained in the celebratory telegram sent by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to President Trump highlights the exceptional bilateral relations between Morocco and the United States, the deep strategic partnership that unites both countries and the promising future prospects we share.’
The Moroccan ambassador underlined the uniqueness of this exceptional partnership, recalling that Morocco was the first country to recognise the independence of the United States in the international arena.
In this regard, the diplomat expressed the Kingdom's willingness to strengthen its historic partnership with Washington, highlighting the enormous opportunities for deepening bilateral ties in key areas such as security, economic cooperation, cultural exchange and innovation.
Amrani said that cooperation with the new US administration is part of the ‘steady and promising path of sustainable progress’ that Morocco is pursuing under ‘the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI’. This partnership, he said, opens up ample opportunities, not only to strengthen the historic alliance, but also to explore new horizons of strategic cooperation.
The US-Moroccan relationship is one of the oldest and strongest in the international arena. Over the years, the two nations have developed a strategic partnership that spans a wide range of areas, including diplomacy, security, trade, economic cooperation and culture.
