Coinciding with the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has reaffirmed the Kingdom's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

In his message, the Moroccan monarch expressed Rabat's commitment to political defence and humanitarian assistance to Palestine, in particular during the current war in the Gaza Strip.

Mohammed VI stressed the fundamental role of the Palestinian cause in achieving regional harmony, describing it as ‘the key to establishing peace, security and stability in the Middle East’.

He reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering stance, declaring that Gaza is ‘an integral part of the Palestinian territories’ and stressing Morocco's full support for Palestinian independence.

On the current conflict, the king called for a ‘complete and immediate ceasefire’, urging the international community to ‘support and protect human rights in the Palestinian territories’.

He also called for the ‘immediate and permanent opening of all border crossings’ to facilitate the delivery of essential aid, including ‘humanitarian supplies, medical assistance and essential goods’. In this regard, Mohammed VI recalled that he has ordered, on three occasions, the delivery of urgent humanitarian and medical assistance to the Gaza Strip.

On humanitarian aid, Mohammed VI called for continued support for UNRWA, describing the UN organisation as ‘vital in supporting Palestinian refugees’.

He also reiterated Morocco's commitment to ‘diplomatic action aimed at protecting the legal, historical and demographic status of Al-Quds’.

As chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the Moroccan monarch reaffirmed Morocco's dedication to the defence of Jerusalem - ‘We are personally committed to deploying all our efforts to preserve the legal, historical and demographic status of Al-Quds as a holy city for the followers of the three monotheistic religions’.
