Mohammed VI undergoes successful surgery on his left shoulder

The King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, had to undergo emergency surgery on his left shoulder after a fall on Sunday 8 December.
The monarch was taken to the Palais Royal clinic in Rabat where he was quickly treated for a fractured humerus.
After the operation, the doctors at the clinic estimated that the Alaoui king will have to keep his shoulder immobilised for at least 45 days. After this period, rehabilitation work will be carried out.
According to the Royal Court, the technical team of medical specialists at the Palais Royal clinic, comprising Belyamani Lahcen, the King's personal physician, Zine Ali, Boudabid Salim, Benchekroum Mohamed and traumatologists from the Mohammed V military training hospital in Rabat, oversaw the monarch's health during the operation.
As a result, the Moroccan monarch will have to modify his schedule for the next few days, cancelling most of his events. Of particular concern is the state visit to Doha, capital of Qatar, where the king was due to meet with Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to strengthen commercial ties and discuss the future of the conflicts affecting the Middle East region.
