Moroccan consulates in Spain celebrated the Throne Day
The twelve Moroccan consulates in different Spanish cities solemnly celebrated the Throne Day, which this year commemorates the 26th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne of Morocco. All the events reaffirmed the ties of cooperation and solidarity between Moroccans and Spaniards, with the attendance of prominent authorities, representatives of institutions, businesspeople, diplomats, and leading figures from the cultural, artistic, and literary worlds, as well as media professionals.
In Madrid, Consul Kamal Arifiy and his team held a musical evening, with a tribute to several students and a gala dinner in collaboration with Events Palace and the sponsorship of several individuals and companies, including Air Arbia, Chaabi Bak, AttijariWafa Bank, Banco Of Africa, and several local companies.
The event was hosted and presented by singer and actor Hicham El Ouali, with the participation of local singers Achraf Mostafa and Karim el Jouhari. In addition to two special guests, singer Hatim Ammour and comedian Eko, the event was also attended by several prominent figures from the cultural, artistic, and literary worlds, as well as media professionals.
In Barcelona, Consul Cherif Cherkaoui praised the fruitful cooperation between the Consulate and the local authorities of Catalonia, in particular with the Government of the Generalitat and the Parliament of Catalonia. He stressed that this strategic alliance is taking shape through joint initiatives that promote the social and cultural integration of Moroccan residents and strengthen economic ties between the two regions.
In the Canary Islands, Consul Fatiha El Kamouri highlighted the “important role” played by the Alawite kingdom as a “generator of economic and multisectoral growth with the Canary Islands.”
“The ties between Morocco and the Canary Islands are an essential component of this bilateral cooperation. Our geographical proximity, our common history and our economic, cultural and human exchanges give this relationship a unique richness,” said the consul.
In Valencia, Consul Said Drissi El Bouzaidi highlighted the growing cooperation between Morocco and the Valencian Community, especially in sectors such as trade, investment, port and air connectivity, culture, education, and tourism.
The consul highlighted that more than 3,000 Valencian companies currently export to the Kingdom, and at least 70 are already established in the country, consolidating Morocco as a strategic destination for Valencian businesses. The consul paid tribute to the solidarity that was best exemplified by Morocco's collaboration during the DANA.
In Murcia, Consul Sanaa Merouah highlighted the strengthening of friendship between Morocco and Spain, the diversity of cooperation offered in sectors of economic activity, and the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup.
She also congratulated the Moroccan community in the Region of Murcia, which has more than 95,000 residents, both those who work in the agricultural sector in extreme conditions and those who work in various sectors, such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, and entrepreneurs, and who participate in the economic and social development of the region.
In Gerona, Consul Aicha Ibn El Alami highlighted the value of the contributions made by Moroccans in the region.
She emphasized the work carried out by the consulate with local authorities to further strengthen and consolidate relations of friendship and cooperation, taking into account the enormous potential of both parties.
The other consulates also held events to celebrate this very important date for Moroccans.
