Morocco launches a humanitarian medical aid operation in Gaza

King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, gave his instructions to deploy a humanitarian medical aid operation in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad.

The aid ordered by the Moroccan monarch consists of more than 40 tonnes of medical supplies containing, among others, devices for the treatment of burns, surgical and trauma emergencies, as well as essential medicines.

The same communiqué stresses that these medical products will respond to the medical needs of the Palestinian population, both adults and young children. The King provided a large part of this humanitarian aid from his personal funds.

"The Moroccan aid will be channelled through the same unprecedented land route used during the previous food aid operation deployed by order of the Sovereign during the month of Ramadan," the official communiqué specifies.
"These large-scale humanitarian operations in favour of the Palestinian population reconfirm the commitment and constant concern of King Mohammed VI for the Palestinian cause," concludes the same source.
