The President of Spain will analyse the situation in Central America with heads of state from the region
The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, together with the heads of state and government of the countries that are part of the Central American Integration System (SICA) will analyse the situation in the region and its relationship with Spain at a meeting to be held in Costa Rica.
The SICA informed this Friday in a communiqué that the meeting will take place on 10 June in San José, Costa Rica, on the occasion of the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the SICA member countries and Spain.
The meeting, which is also part of the commemoration of SICA's 30th anniversary, will strengthen the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation and will analyse the different issues that have an impact on the region's development, including climate change and irregular migration, according to the note.
It points out that a press conference will be held after the meeting, scheduled for 13.00 local time (19.00 GMT), at which the issues discussed at the summit will be announced.
The meeting is organised by the Costa Rican government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, in its capacity as pro tempore president of SICA, together with the governments of Spain and Guatemala.
