One of the central issues of the meeting was the migration crisis, which represents a significant challenge for both Libya and the European Union. Al-Aqouri emphasised the need for joint coordination and effective strategies to manage migration flows in a sustainable manner and with respect for human rights.
During the meeting, Al-Aqouri also reported that the House of Representatives had fulfilled its commitment to establish a legal framework for the parliamentary and presidential elections, as well as for the referendum on the Constitution. He also reiterated the House's position on the immediate withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory.
