Tétouan: Arrest of a pro-Daesh extremist during a preventive national security operation

According to security sources, the suspect was in the advanced stages of preparing a terrorist plot against vital institutions and infrastructure in Morocco, after proclaiming his allegiance to the so-called “emir” of the organization and beginning preparations for acts that threaten the security and stability of the country.

During the preventive operation, digital equipment and technologies used to communicate with other extremist elements and explore ways to implement his terrorist plan were seized.

The suspect has been taken into custody and is being held for judicial investigation supervised by the competent anti-terrorism prosecutor's office, in order to determine the scope of the project and uncover any possible networks within Morocco or abroad.

This operation illustrates the vigilance and effectiveness of the Moroccan security services in neutralizing terrorist threats before they materialize, reaffirming Morocco's commitment to protecting its citizens and maintaining national security and stability.
