The Gulf countries reaffirm their support for the Moroccan Sahara and praise the initiative of cooperation and development on the Atlantic coast

The countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) led by the foreign ministers of Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and with the assistance of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is visiting Saudi Arabia, held a meeting to discuss a series of regional and international issues and agendas.

In the preamble of the meeting, and through the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Al-Budaiwi, they reaffirmed their continued support for the Moroccan Sahara and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

In another parallel field, Al-Badawi affirmed, on Sunday in Riyadh, on the occasion of the Morocco-Gulf Cooperation Council joint ministerial meeting, that the GCC countries commend the African-Atlantic initiative of Mohammed VI, which would enhance cooperation between the Sahel countries and the countries bordering the Atlantic.

The spokesman stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between Morocco and the GCC countries, and the aspiration of the GCC countries to strengthen economic relations between the two sides.

The GCC countries also praised the reforms and projects initiated by Morocco, under the leadership of Mohammed VI, to advance in various economic, social and infrastructure-related fields in the Kingdom of Morocco.

In this regard, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, in his speech, praised the important reforms implemented by King Mohammed VI, in all political and economic fields, reiterating the importance of the strategic partnership existing between the two sides, as highlighted at the recent meeting in Doha.

For his part, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and President of the current session of the Council, congratulated the Kingdom of Morocco for winning the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. stressing the readiness of the countries of the Council to provide the necessary support to Morocco and to participate in the implementation of projects that have been initiated in the North African country; and will join this global event.

The joint ministerial meeting between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Kingdom of Morocco was attended by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, and the foreign ministers of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

All agreed that the meeting represented an opportunity to strengthen the solid foundations of the strategic partnership between the two parties, in line with the vision of King Mohammed VI and the countries of the Council.
