The news outlet Maroc Diplomatique is organising the 5th edition of the MD Sahara Forum, which will be held between 13 and 16 November in the Sahrawi city of Dakhla and will be entitled: ‘50 years of the Green March: National unity and continental ambition’.

The event takes place at a symbolic juncture, marked by the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Green March (1975-2025), a fundamental moment in the process of Morocco's territorial integrity and a milestone in the consolidation of national unity.

The fifth edition of the MD Sahara Forum aims to create a space for high-level reflection and exchange on the subject. The themes of this international meeting will not only shed light on the historical and political significance of this event, but will also highlight Morocco's contemporary strategies, in particular its leading role in regional integration and African cooperation.

Dakhla, a hub for development

The city of Dakhla, which has become an emerging hub for economic and diplomatic development, is a privileged setting for hosting this international event. The Forum will bring together senior government officials, economic actors, academics and representatives of regional and international organisations.

With more than 2,800 attendees, 200 partners, 150 participants and 55 countries represented, the event will feature high-level guests of honour, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses de Pina Correia e Silva.
