United States praises Morocco's security model

‘Transferring the American security model to the rest of the world, especially Africa’, was the statement made by US Senator Jerry Morin in reference to the good relations with Morocco and its capacity to promote and make possible a more secure and stable continent. 

At a meeting led by the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, accompanied by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defence Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, and the Lieutenant General and Inspector of the Royal Armed Forces, Mohamed Bariz, the actions of the Alawite country in promoting peace in Africa were praised. 

During the meeting, the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries were highlighted. These ties were strengthened following the exchange of visits through the existing Bilateral Defence Advisory Committee. In addition, the senator stressed the role of King Mohammed VI for his work in the service of stability, both in the Mediterranean and in the rest of the continent. 

Morocco's geographic location has always been a very important point for the United States. Being on Europe's doorstep is a substantial factor. 

Collaboration is constant. From the commercial to the military sphere, the two powers share major agreements that have made Morocco an important international player. The constant visits of Moroccan diplomats to the US and vice versa have allowed the flow of information to be influential. 

Morocco is an important non-NATO ally of the United States and the only African country with a free trade agreement with the North American giant. It is also the US's main partner in Africa. 

The meeting between the Congressional delegation and military officials highlights the successful bilateral military cooperation, which has made significant progress in a number of areas, including the signing of agreements, the provision of equipment, training and the conduct of joint exercises, such as African Lion. 

Following the meeting between the US delegation and military officials, Morocco's National Defence Administration issued a statement confirming that both sides expressed their interest in exploring and enhancing opportunities for cooperation on regional security and defence issues. 

Washington's strong stance in support of Morocco's territorial integrity and recent visits by U.S. delegations to the country are an important impetus for furthering employment opportunities between the two nations. The United States continues to commend this progress. 

Morocco's engagement in the fight against terrorism demonstrates the importance of a clear U.S. strategy in Atlantic Africa and the Euro-Mediterranean space.
