Zelenski meets EU Foreign Ministers in Kiev

The Ukrainian President, Volodymir Zelenski, met on Monday with the foreign ministers of the European Union in Kiev, as part of the informal meeting that EU Foreign Affairs ministers are holding today in the Ukrainian capital.
"The meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Kiev gives Europe strength, leadership and initiative," Zelenski wrote on his X social network account. "Active European leadership is essential," added the Ukrainian head of state, who posted several photos from the meeting.
Zelenski added that "the more principled and joint steps in defence, diplomacy, economy and sanctions we take together, the sooner the war will end with a just peace".
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell also wrote on X about the meeting with Zelenski. "When we are together we are stronger. The EU is and will be Ukraine's first support," Borrell said.

Tribute to fallen Ukrainian fighters
EU Foreign Ministers paid tribute in Kiev to Ukrainian soldiers killed since 2014 while fighting for the territorial integrity of their country.
"We pay tribute to the victims of the war of aggression against Ukraine," José Manuel Albares, the Spanish Foreign Minister, wrote on his social network account X, alongside several photographs in which he is seen alongside the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmitro Kuleba, paying tribute to the fallen.

The event took place in St. Michael's Square in Kiev, in front of the wall where the photographs of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers killed in combat, since 2014 against pro-Russian militias in the Dombash and since February 2022 against the regular Russian army, are displayed.
