The International Human Rights Committee (IHRC) is deeply concerned about the violent attacks against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community amidst the recent political turmoil in Bangladesh.

As law and order has deteriorated, properties, houses, shops and mosques of Muslim Ahmadis in several regions have been destroyed. Nearly twenty Ahmadis have been injured, some of whom have been hospitalised.

The situation remains fluid, with ongoing unrest complicating the assessment of specific cases. Many Ahmadis have been forced to flee their homes, as seen in videos shared on social media.

Anti-Ahmadi clerics (mul'lahs) and neighbourhood rioters have taken advantage of the fall of the government to burn and loot approximately 88 houses. Major Ahmadi mosques have been severely damaged. One injured citizen is in critical condition. Clerics have vandalised and burnt the mosque in Taraganj, Rangpur district, and also attacked the mosque in Mathertek, Dhaka City.
