Atalayar. Entre dos orillas, a leading Spanish media outlet in the field of international information, has launched, in collaboration with the European University of Madrid, a television project to analyse everything that is happening in the world and to bring the sphere of International Relations closer under the direction of Javier Fernández Arribas and presented by Rosa María Mateo.

For the time being, the programme will be broadcast every 15 days under the title 'Atalayar en Europea TV' and has already had a first broadcast, presented by the journalist Rosa María Mateo and directed by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar. Entre dos orillas and Atalayar en Europea TV. Francisco Aldecoa, President of the Spanish Federal Council of the European Movement, and José María Peredo Pombo, Professor of Communication and International Politics at the European University of Madrid, took part in this first broadcast.

In this first issue we discussed the Conference on the Future of Europe as a debate on the most relevant issues surrounding the EU institution, which has a great future and great potential, as it has demonstrated in recent years, the conclusions of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, which closed with an agreement that aims to keep alive the objective of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, the migration crisis on the border between Belarus and Poland that has affected the European Union, and the diplomatic confrontation between Morocco and Algeria; Above all, as a result of the break in relations marked by the Algerian country in a political dispute that for many years has pitted two countries with opposing interests in matters such as Western Sahara, on which the Alawite kingdom defends an initiative for broad autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty, which has the most international support, such as that of the United States and the United Arab Emirates. All of this is in contrast to a proposal for a referendum on Sahrawi independence defended by the Polisario Front that does not have much support, such as that of Algeria in this case.
