The direction emits a comunicado to justify torpedoing the closure of the center on Friday

The blunder of the mosque of Algiers

To answer the rumors that announce the opening, next Friday, of the mosque of Algiers and to prevent the thousands of faithful to go to this place of worship whose inexplicable closing feeds the daily chronicle of the Algerians, the direction of the establishment diffused a press release justifying clumsily the closing of the mosque

While it was to be inaugurated by the President of the Republic, the late Abdelaziz Bouteflika in April 2019 in the middle of the "hirak" that challenged the 5th term he was seeking, the new mosque in Algiers (the 3rd in the world) which had so much talk about it since the launch of its work in 2011, remains closed to the public. It is understood by mosque, in addition to the prayer hall its ancillary facilities including the library, museum, conference room, hotel etc.. which cover an area of 20 hectares.
Yesterday, the management of the mosque issued a statement, taken up by the Arabic daily "Echourouq" explaining the closure of the place for Friday prayers and evening by "technical reserves. An explanation that calls for others. Otherwise how to explain these technical reserves?  Does this mean that there would be defects that should be corrected? If so, it is serious that a building whose construction has been followed with great attention by the highest authorities including the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning who was none other than the current President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune? Therefore the responsibility of the last named is engaged and must like many of his peers answer for this failure to his duties before the courts

Thus, the statement of the management of the mosque comes to put in bad posture the current head of state who was to inaugurate the prayer hall in October 2020. An inauguration carried out by his prime minister at the time Abdelaziz Djerrad. An inauguration that is actually a staging that had no need to be. One does not inaugurate an installation which is the subject of technical reserves and which will be opened partially.
Another clumsiness noted in the statement of the management of the mosque is the fact of justifying the closure by "technical reserves" for the Friday and evening prayer but not for the other four prayers of the day. A quirk that only the Algerian leaders will know how to explain.
In reality, the statement of the mosque did not bring anything new insofar as it announces "the upcoming opening of the mosque as soon as the technical reservations are lifted. When? It is not specified in the text. Let's wait and see.
