‘De cara al mundo’ (Facing the world): international analysis on Onda Madrid

Onda Madrid's programme ‘De cara al mundo’, directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, provides weekly analysis of the main sources of international tension.

This week, the conflict in Ukraine has intensified once again. Russia has launched a new massive bombardment against several Ukrainian cities, leaving at least 20 dead in Kiev, where even the headquarters of the European Union was hit by a missile. Moscow insists on the diplomatic option as a way out of the conflict, while the President of the European Commission has assured Europe's firm support for Ukraine.

In addition, the German government has approved the establishment of voluntary military service in anticipation of the Russian threat.

Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will analyse the latest developments in the war and the West's response.

In Gaza, the Israeli army is continuing its operations with the evacuation of thousands of people from Gaza City and the northern part of the Strip as part of its military offensive.

On the American continent, the United States has decided to reinforce its military presence on the coasts near Venezuela, with the argument of curbing drug trafficking. The Chavista regime's reaction has been to call for popular mobilisations, which, however, have not met President Nicolás Maduro's expectations.

In France, Emmanuel Macron's government is facing a major political crisis. Prime Minister François Bayrou has called a vote of confidence in the National Assembly for 8 September, although all forecasts suggest that the attempt will end in defeat, which could lead to the fall of the Executive at a critical moment for the country. International analyst Lucas Martín will explain the strategic implications of this crisis in Europe.
