"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid
"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles the key international news every week.
The President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has launched a diplomatic offensive with the aim of counteracting the increase in international support for Morocco's proposal for broad autonomy for Western Sahara under its sovereignty. Tebboune was in Moscow praising his Russian ally Vladimir Putin and his foreign minister, Ahmed Ataff, has visited Italy, Serbia and Germany. Gas is a tempting element, but Algeria's position alongside Russia and its own internal dictatorial politics put it in a complicated situation.
Meanwhile, in Morocco, King Mohammed VI's health problems have sparked attention to a possible succession. Sources close to the Moroccan monarch claim that his illness is under control with medication and that his weight loss and diet have enabled him to maintain his health and activities.
Pedro Canales, an expert analyst on the Maghreb, will speak to the microphones of "De cara al mundo", where he will discuss issues relating to Morocco and Algeria.
On the other hand, on 6, 7 and 8 July, the Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit will be held in Madrid, bringing together prominent personalities to analyse relations between the two sides. The aim is to create synergies between the two regions and achieve co-development. Maryama Kadaoui, project manager of One Africa, will explain the details of this conclave.
Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. There was a new Russian bombardment of several Ukrainian cities in response to the attack on one of the strategic posts linking Crimea to the Kherson region. The Crimean peninsula is a frequent target of Ukrainian attacks, often using drones, and serves as a logistical rear base for Russian forces deployed in southern Ukraine. In Brussels, it is stressed that Ukraine has completed two of the reforms necessary for EU membership, a process that will take nearly 20 years. Related to this issue, the thirty-fifth edition of the International Defence Seminar organised by the Association of European Journalists was held in Toledo. Many questions and few answers, but accurate analyses by military and political experts who valued the unity of the Europeans and the United States and did not hesitate to describe China's position as key. The journalist María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will analyse all these issues.
As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will talk about the war in Ukraine, the International Defence Seminar in Toledo, the relationship between the United States and India, the Summit for a New Global Compact in Paris, and the Africa-Sapin Cooperation Summit in Madrid.
"De cara al mundo", Friday 23 June from 22:05 to 23:00.
