"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid

De cara al mundo

"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles the most important issues on the international scene each week.

Africa is a continent of opportunities for Spain. Madrid is hosting the Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit, in which Spanish and African representatives from more than 20 countries are taking part in the first Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit, organised by One Africa Forums, which aims to build bridges and show the possibilities offered by the African continent. This is the main objective set by One Africa Forums, the organiser of the first Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit, according to its president, Hassan M. Alaoui, during the presentation of this meeting, which will take place over three days at the Eurostar Tower.

The president of One Africa Forums highlighted four reasons why Spain should support the African continent: Spain's natural extension is Africa; Africa wants to diversify its horizons beyond its historical partners; Spain is present in Morocco with more than a thousand companies; Spain's experience in sectors that are essential for Africa.

"We want to fill the gap that exists between Spain and Africa," Alaoui stressed, with the aim of creating a bridge that promotes collaboration with the south and the development of Africa. Bruno Nabagné Kone, Minister of Housing and Urban Development of the Ivory Coast, Jerónimo Falcón, investment attraction technician of PROEXCA, an agency of the Canary Islands government, Rosa Cañadas, president of the Tanja Foundation, and Fernando Bernad, representative of the Cuatrecasas law firm with extensive experience in projects in North Africa, will appear before the microphones of "De cara al mundo" to explain all these issues.

On the other hand, the war in Ukraine continues. Russia has bombed the Ukrainian city of Lviv, near Poland, killing several civilians when a missile hit a residential building, while the United States is considering including cluster bombs, a type of weapon banned internationally, in the next military aid package to Kiev, although the United States, Russia and Ukraine have not signed this agreement. Within NATO, it is hoped that the next meeting of Swedish and Turkish leaders, mediated by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, could unblock Sweden's accession to the Atlantic Alliance. The journalist María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will offer the latest details of the armed confrontation on Ukrainian territory.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the war in Ukraine, the protests and acts of vandalism in France, the conflict between Israel and Palestine with the Jenin controversy and the Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit in Madrid.

"De cara al mundo", Friday 7 July from 22:05 to 23:00.
