"De cara al mundo": international analysis on Onda Madrid
"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles the key international news every week.
Madrid hosted the Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit, which stressed that the African continent offers many investment opportunities for Spain and Europe. Spanish and African representatives from more than 20 countries participated in Madrid in this first Africa-Spain Cooperation Summit which, organised by One Africa Forums, aims to build bridges and show the possibilities offered by the African continent. At this important event, we were able to conduct numerous interviews, which we will be offering you over the next few programmes. In this edition, we listened to the experience of Rosa Cañadas, president of the Tanja Foundation.
On the other hand, Félix Alejandro Maradiaga Blandón, founder and president of the Fundación para la Libertad was in Madrid at an event organised by the Naumann Foundation. Félix Maradiaga is a renowned social entrepreneur and expert in public policy and civil society development in Central and South America. A staunch defender of human rights, non-violence activist and democracy scholar, he is a highly respected voice of opposition to the Ortega-Murillo regime and considered the leader of the democratic opposition in Nicaragua. The regime has expelled hundreds of opponents from the country, continues its internal repression and at the EU-CELAC summit blocked the final communiqué to support Putin.
Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. Russia has again attacked the port of Odessa for the fourth night in a row, destroying several warehouses of grain, cereals and peas. President Zelenski has claimed that Russia has launched 70 missiles and that they have no anti-aircraft capability to deal with these attacks. The Kiev government follows Putin's lead and warns that any ship bound for a Russian port in the Black Sea may be considered a military target. The United Nations warns Russia that the bombing of civilian businesses in Odessa is a war crime. The journalist María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will give the key points on all these issues in "De cara al mundo".
As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the war in Ukraine, the current food crisis, the EU-CELAC summit, the war in Ukraine, the Africa Spain Cooperation Summit and the situation of the French government after the latest setbacks and protests.
"De cara al mundo", Friday 21 July from 22:05 to 23:00.
