"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, deals with current affairs in the world on a weekly basis.

The Middle East crisis continues. Joe Biden, President of the United States, is trying to prevent Israel's military offensive in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, where more than a million Gazans have gathered. He has telephoned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has refused to halt the operations because he claims that Israeli hostages held by Hamas could be found in Rafah and, moreover, believes that the creation of a Palestinian state would be a triumph for Hamas terrorism.

Meanwhile, for yet another year, the Munich Security Conference will focus on the situation in Ukraine and its international implications. Ukraine's President Volodimir Zelensky will participate in Munich with the aim of preventing a relaxation of US and EU economic and military aid.  Zelensky arrives in Paris before going to Munich to sign a security cooperation agreement, which he will also sign with Germany and the UK, NATO countries that are showing their support at a delicate time for Ukraine's defence in the face of Russian encroachment.

In Munich, particular attention will be paid to the information revealed by a congressman's question to the Washington administration on Russia's development of a nuclear weapons system to be installed in space with the aim of destroying Western satellites. Moscow responds that it is a strategy to overcome the Republican veto of the aid package for Ukraine, all in anticipation of Donald Trump's return to the White House. A Donald Trump who is to be the first president to be tried in a criminal case. A judge has decided to prosecute him for Trump's payment to Stormy Daniels to avoid her testimony. The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will analyse in depth the issue of the war in Ukraine.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. They will discuss the crisis in the Middle East with the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas and the mediation of the United States, the war in Ukraine and the holding of the Munich Security Conference and the closure of the Venezuelan Human Rights Centre.

"De cara al mundo", Friday 16 February from 22:05 to 23:00.
