‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles international current affairs every week.

Israel has dealt a spectacular blow to Hezbollah with the operation carried out in search engines and walkie talkies. Some 40 dead and several thousand wounded in explosions that have caused heavy casualties among Hezbollah leaders, including Iran's ambassador to Lebanon. The situation has created enormous vulnerability and pessimism within the militia's ranks.

In the last few hours, Israel has bombed Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon and claims to have destroyed about a thousand rockets ready to be fired at Israel. The leader of the terrorist organisation, Hassan Nasrallah, vows revenge and claims that Israel's action is a declaration of war.

Meanwhile, the diplomatic crisis between Venezuela and Spain continues. The Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González is trying to throw some water on the fire ignited by the alleged collaboration of the Spanish government, in this case the ambassador to Venezuela, to get him to sign a declaration recognising the victory of Nicolás Maduro so that he could go into exile in Spain and guarantee the safety of his family.

He says that the Spanish government did not coerce him to sign, the Rodríguez brothers did, who, incredibly, were able to enter the Spanish ambassador's residence and coerce the president-elect of Venezuela, as recognised by the European Parliament, with very significant votes among the socialist ranks. Miguel Ángel Benedicto, professor of International Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid, will give the key points on the matter to the microphones of ‘De cara al mundo’.

In addition, journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and expert analyst Lucas Martín will tackle the most important issues on the international scene, with special attention to the war in Ukraine.

As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas; they will talk about the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the presidential elections in the United States and the war in Ukraine.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 20 September from 22:05 to 23:00.
