De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles world current affairs every week.

Israel has managed to eliminate the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, in Gaza, considered to be the mastermind of the terrorist massacre on 7 October in Israeli territory. Sinwar's disappearance raises the option of resuming ceasefire negotiations and the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

Meanwhile, Volodimir Zelenski, President of Ukraine, has said that North Korea is training 10,000 soldiers to fight alongside Russia: ‘It would be the first step in a world war’.

The Ukrainian president is demanding an invitation to EU leaders to join NATO as the only guarantee of security. For its part, the US says it cannot confirm Pyongyang's plans.

In addition, the Council of Europe reaffirmed the great value the EU attaches to its strategic partnership with Morocco and the need to preserve and strengthen it.

The European Council, which brings together the heads of state and government of the 27 member states of the European Union, reaffirmed on Friday at a summit in Brussels the ‘great value’ the EU attaches to its strategic partnership with Morocco.

In addition, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, has called for the partition of Western Sahara to resolve five decades of conflict.

De Mistura proposes an independent state in the south and the integration of the north into Morocco, an initiative that has been rejected by both Rabat and the Polisario Front.

The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will analyse the most important issues before the microphones of ‘De cara al mundo’.

As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas; they will talk about the war between Israel and Hamas, the Council of Europe's support for Morocco, the UN's position on Western Sahara, the war in Ukraine and the presidential elections in the United States.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 18 October from 22:05 to 23:00.
