’De cara al mundo’: international analysis on Onda Madrid
‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses international current affairs on a weekly basis.
Ukraine accuses Russia of shooting down the plane that crashed in Kazakhstan. A head of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council claimed that shots fired by a Russian air defence system caused the downing of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane and the deaths of 38 of its occupants.
Moscow says that no hasty conclusions should be drawn about the causes of the Azerbaijani plane crash. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov insisted that we must wait until the investigation is complete.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin claims that the sinking of its ship between Spain and Algeria was an ‘act of terrorism’. The ship suffered an explosion in the engine room, according to the Russian authorities.
Meanwhile, the war in the Middle East continues. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced more strikes against Houthi rebels until ‘the job is done’ after launching a wave of attacks in Yemen on the main airport and other infrastructure that left at least four dead and 21 wounded.
Meanwhile, Israeli shelling kills five Palestinian journalists in Gaza. The journalists were working for the Al Quds channel, which the Israeli authorities link to Hamas, and were in a van marked ‘press’.
In the United States, Donald Trump is again projecting his interest in Greenland, Panama and Canada. The president-elect is claiming control over the Central American country's canal, reviving his idea of buying the island associated with Denmark and fantasising about annexing its northern neighbour, Canada.
The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla and the expert international analyst Lucas Martín will appear on ‘De cara al mundo’ to provide the most relevant key points.
As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas; they will talk about the plane crash in Azerbaijan, the war between Israel and the Houthis in Yemen, the crisis in Syria and Donald Trump's latest statements.
‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 27 December from 22:05 to 23:00.
