‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses world news on a weekly basis.

The controversy over the US imposing tariffs on several countries continues. Yes, no, later, how many drug traffickers will you extradite, how many soldiers will you put on the border to stop immigrants... In short, Donald Trump is using tariffs against Mexico and other countries as a bargaining chip to achieve his objectives.

With regard to the war in Ukraine, the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski visits the White House with the peace agreements and negotiations up in the air. This agreement is a pillar for strengthening relations between the two countries, after almost three years of military and economic support.

Donald Trump assures that Russia is behaving very well. ‘We are making progress on a peace agreement,’ he said. The US president said at a meeting with British leader Keir Starmer that he would try in the peace negotiations to get Kiev to recover as much of the occupied territory as possible.

Meanwhile, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, warns that the four regions he has annexed in eastern Ukraine ‘are non-negotiable’.

The Russian leader orders his intelligence services to prevent Europe or Ukraine from interfering in Moscow's talks with Washington about the war. Both sides are silent about their second meeting on Thursday.

The journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will offer the main keys on ‘De cara al mundo’.

On the other hand, the Movement Saharawi for Peace is organising the 3rd International Conference for Peace and Dialogue in Las Palmas to achieve a peaceful solution to the Western Sahara dispute.

The MSP presents its credentials to ask the United Nations to include it as a representative of a large part of the Saharawi people in the negotiation process.

The first secretary of the MSP, Hach Ahmed Bericalla, will explain the situation on the programme.

International expert analyst Lucas Martín will also analyse the most relevant issues on the international scene.

As on each day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas; they will talk about the contacts between Russia and the United States on the subject of Ukraine, Donald Trump's controversial position on the war in Ukrainian territory and the position of the European Union, US tariffs on Mexico and the Western Sahara question.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 28th February from 22:05 to 23:00.
