‘De cara al mundo‘: international analysis on Onda Madrid

‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, provides weekly analysis of world news. 

The funeral of Pope Francis I will bring together numerous heads of state and government in Rome on Saturday. Before that, thousands of people paid their last respects to a Pope valued for his closeness to the poor and his defence of immigrants. Francis upheld the dogmas of the Catholic Church, which now faces a new era with the election of a new pope by a conclave of 135 cardinals, 79% of whom were appointed by Francis himself. 

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. ‘Vladimir, stop.’ With these words, US President Donald Trump has expressed his displeasure at Russia's latest massive attacks on numerous Ukrainian cities, causing dozens of deaths. Trump continues to criticise Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, who will try to meet with the US president in Rome on Saturday.  

Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will analyse the most important points in ‘De cara al mundo’.

Meanwhile, the tariff war is easing somewhat within the 90-day period given by Donald Trump for its entry into force, except for China. However, both Washington and Beijing are reducing these tariffs on certain products, which is benefiting the markets. 

Expert international analyst Lucas Martín will explain the most relevant elements.
