‘De cara al mundo’: international analysis on Onda Madrid
‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, tackles current world affairs every week.
In relation to the war in Ukraine, Europe has involved 26 countries in deploying troops on Ukrainian territory to monitor the peace.
‘They will be present by land, sea or air and will provide security’ in a ceasefire, French President Emmanuel Macron announced to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. In view of this situation, Spain has not confirmed whether it will participate.
Meanwhile, Europe and the United States agreed on Thursday to impose further economic sanctions on Russia, particularly in the area of energy sales, if Russia does not immediately sit down to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine. At the same time, 26 countries are prepared to offer security guarantees to Kiev, with land, air and naval resources, once a truce agreement is signed.
Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will analyse the most relevant issues in ‘De cara al mundo’.
On the other hand, China, Russia, North Korea and various other countries have attended the Shanghai summit, where the influence and power of the Chinese giant has been demonstrated, followed by a show of military force that is well worth taking into account.
In addition, the war in Gaza continues. Israel claims to control 40% of Gaza City after more than three weeks of incessant bombing that has caused a forced displacement towards the south of the Palestinian enclave, with no ceasefire in sight despite pressure from the families of those kidnapped to reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, the US Department of Defence reported last night that two Venezuelan F-16 fighter jets flew over the destroyer USS Jason Dunham, which was sailing in international waters in the Caribbean, where there has been an unprecedented escalation in recent weeks following the deployment of US ships to combat “narco-terrorism”.
Expert international analyst Lucas Martín will provide the most relevant insights.
As every day, the discussion will be led by Atalayar's regular contributors, Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. The discussion will focus on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the alliance between China, Russia and North Korea, and the confrontation between the United States and Venezuela.
‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 5 September from 10.05pm to 11pm.
