‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, analyses world news on a weekly basis.

Israel has approved the peace plan for Gaza, which includes the release of hostages and an end to the bombings. Hamas says it has received assurances from the United States, Arab mediators and Turkey that the war is definitively over.

Netanyahu's cabinet has met to ratify the agreement, which will come into force 24 hours after its approval, i.e. after midnight (Spanish mainland time) on Saturday.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has welcomed the ceasefire and called for its implementation.

Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. Eastern Kiev is without electricity and drinking water after a Russian drone attack caused a fire in a Kiev apartment and left at least nine people injured.

Ukraine is confident that it will receive Tomahawk long-range missiles from the US. Despite Moscow's threats, the White House is considering the possibility of providing Kiev with these rockets, which have a range of up to 2,500 kilometres, the most lethal weaponry supplied.

Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will offer the most important insights on ‘De cara al mundo’.

Meanwhile, King Mohammed VI of Morocco has delivered a highly anticipated speech at the opening of the political year in Congress, with an eye on the elections next September and responses to demonstrations by young people calling for better healthcare and education and less football stadiums and corruption.

Meanwhile, the fourth commission on the Sahara has held sessions at the United Nations. There is a feeling in the air that the resolution to be published at the end of the month will be oriented towards the peaceful and negotiated solution represented by the Autonomy Plan for the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty.

Expert international analyst Lucas Martín will analyse the most relevant issues.

As every day, the discussion will feature Atalayar's regular contributors: Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. The debate will focus on the wars in Gaza and Ukraine, the protests in Morocco and the United Nations' position on the sovereignty of Western Sahara.

‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 10 October, from 10:05 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
