‘De cara al mundo’: international analysis on Onda Madrid
‘De cara al mundo’, the Onda Madrid programme directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, provides weekly analysis of global current affairs.
The UN endorses Morocco's autonomy plan, marking a historic turning point in the Western Sahara conflict. The resolution was approved with 11 votes in favour and no veto from the permanent member countries, as China and Russia abstained. Algeria decided not to vote.
This resolution, which affirms that the plan for autonomy in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty could constitute a viable solution, marks a new historical stage for the territorial integrity of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and the diplomatic management of Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine continues. The Pokrovsk front is the most active, with the Russian offensive attempting to conquer this strategic area. In addition, the first trial in Ukraine of a Russian soldier for murdering a surrendered soldier has taken place, and more than 300 similar war crimes are being investigated, but a first sentence has already been handed down.
Journalist and correspondent María Senovilla will analyse the main points in ‘De cara al mundo’.
Regarding the Gaza peace plan, Donald Trump, President of the United States, assures that the situation in Gaza is stabilising and Israel continues with selective attacks in response to threats from Hamas. In the last few hours, Israel has also bombed Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
In addition, Zohran Mamdani conquers New York and becomes the first Muslim mayor in office. The 34-year-old social democrat won with 50% of the vote, setting the course for the left in the United States against Donald Trump.
Expert international analyst Lucas Martín will analyse the most relevant issues.
As every day, the discussion will feature Atalayar's regular contributors: Claudia Luna, Mexican journalist and writer, and Pedro González, journalist and founder of Euronews, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas. The debate will focus on the UN's endorsement of Morocco's autonomy plan for Western Sahara, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and the new mayor of New York.
‘De cara al mundo’, Friday 7 November, from 10.05pm to 11pm.
