A different setting and experience than usual commemorated the National Day of the State of Israel, founded in 1948, and also the 36th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Spain. The setting was the Platea space in Madrid, which was once the impressive Carlos III cinema, the scene of the premiere of great films from the golden age of the seventh art. On this occasion, the Israeli Embassy hosted hundreds of guests, who attended an unprecedented and original evening, coinciding with the event that left the streets of the capital practically deserted: the match between Real Madrid and Manchester City, already inscribed in the annals of the world's best team of the 20th century, and ready to remain so in the 21st.

The Israeli Ambassador to Spain, Rodica Radian-Gordon, accompanied by senior officials of the mission, welcomed her colleagues from the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain, as well as the great diversity of personalities from culture, science, journalism and politics, who came to share the evening.

With great solemnity, the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra performed the national anthems of Israel and Spain, before the ambassador emphasised the good moment of Spanish-Israeli relations and the new technical-scientific cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of space research.

The Colorfood experience is a project that was born in Tel Aviv, conceived by Dan Lev and the aforementioned Raanana Small Symphony Orchestra. Directed by Orit Fogel, it recorded but also performed live ten compositions by classical Spanish and Israeli composers. Each of the pieces features a different solo instrument, to which Dan Lev, photographer and creator of the project, creates an artistic work.

With these musical pieces in the background, the selected chefs, in this case the Israeli Yogev Yehros and the Spaniards Manuel Berganza and Pablo Fernández, have been inspired to create a culinary work, in which they themselves choose the materials, ingredients and colours for their creation.

On the photographs by Dan Lev, showing the hands of the musicians and their instruments, the chefs constructed their culinary pieces, all of which were exhibited and tasted by those who came to enjoy the evening.

In the background, there were many intertwined conversations, especially about politics and the economy, coinciding with the very delicate moment the world is going through. But also about the number of projects and things to be done in all fields of art and human knowledge, in order to make the world of the future habitable, better and therefore worth living in. And for which Israel, through its ambassador, is willing to increase and develop its bilateral cooperation with Spain and multilateral cooperation with neighbouring countries.
