Construction of the Saudi Arabian pavilion for Expo Dubai 2020 completed

Those responsible for the Saudi Arabian pavilion for the Dubai 2020 World Expo, which began construction in February 2019, announced just a few hours ago that construction had been completed and that full preparations were underway for the historic event, which will be the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East and which will be held in 2021 after being postponed due to the health crisis at COVID-19.
The iconic infrastructure of the Saudi kingdom at the world event hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be the second largest, only behind the pavilion of the host country. Covering an area of 13,069 square metres, equivalent to two football pitches, the pavilion will celebrate the country's experience by combining its rich traditions with its boundless aspirations for a bright future.
The building's innovative facade, which rises six stories from the ground, symbolizes the country's deep-rooted heritage, ancient culture, natural wonders, a myriad of opportunities and the enormous ambition of the Saudi Arabian people. Aligned with global sustainability standards and a clear environmental vision, the green structure features 650 solar panels contributed by Saudi Arabian entrepreneurs and manufactured in the Kingdom.
In accordance with the general slogan of Expo Dubai 2020, 'Connecting minds, creating the future', the Saudi Arabian pavilion will take visitors on a guided tour through the wonders of the 13 regions of the Arab country through multiple experiences and immersive and interactive exhibitions. A special water installation will become a major attraction along with a 1320 square meter tilted mirror screen and unique art exhibits attributed to Saudi artists. There will also be an impressive art installation inlaid with 2030 crystals, to represent the ambitious Saudi initiative of Vision 2030, a strategy aimed at diversifying sectors in the Saudi Arabian country so as not to depend exclusively on oil in the near future.
Despite the postponement of the world fair and mobility restrictions due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the Saudi Arabian infrastructure team has been working continuously to welcome millions of visitors to the building.
The Dubai World Expo 2020 will be the first World Expo to be held in the MEASA region (Middle East, Africa and South Asia) in the United Arab Emirates, and will run from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 after it was postponed from this year due to the global impact of the COVID-19 health crisis. This global conclave will bring together more than 190 countries to explore new ideas, form new connections and collectively tackle some of the greatest global challenges; remaining faithful to the aforementioned main theme of Expo Dubai 2020: 'Connecting minds, creating the future'; all aimed at fostering global cooperation to face and solve global challenges by promoting the development of the most innovative technologies. Everything will revolve around the three main pillars of the world fair: Sustainability, Opportunity and Mobility.
