The Emirates excels in the humanitarian fight against the coronavirus
The country of the Persian Gulf is booming in humanitarian aid to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
Just yesterday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent a second aid plane containing 15 tonnes of medical supplies and testing devices to Jordan.
The aim is to support the efforts of 15,000 Jordanian health workers and improve their skills in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
Ahmed Ali Muhammad Al-Balushi, the Emirate's ambassador to Jordan, took the opportunity to declare that "the dispatch of the second plane of urgent medical supplies confirms the important role played by the Emirates in supporting national efforts in the brotherly Arab countries, as well as in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations based on brotherhood, common interests and a single destination".
The ambassador also pointed out that this shipment is the second one the UAE has sent to Jordan, as it previously sent a plane carrying 12.4 tonnes of medical inputs and supplies during the month of June.
This assistance helped support medical workers, expressing the hope that the new shipment will help provide more protection for health workers, especially on the front line of the pandemic.
It should be noted that the United Arab Emirates has so far provided more than 1,485 tons of aid to over 118 countries worldwide, benefiting some 1.5 million health workers.
