The former head of the UNESCO Mission/Ambassador to the Arab States region has been appointed on the proposal of the Steering Committee

Francisco Javier Carrillo Montesinos, former head of the UNESCO mission/ambassador to the Arab States region, has been appointed honorary academician of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, with the endorsement of King Mohammed VI, at the proposal of the Steering Committee. 

Francisco J. Carrillo is an academician emeritus of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Telmo, corresponding academician of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and of the Royal Academy of Antequera, as well as vice-president of the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. He is the author of several books summarising current affairs and several collections of poetry.

He is director of the Euro-Mediterranean Tribune of the Malaga Athenaeum in cooperation with the Malaga Foundation. He is a member of the advisory board of the European Institute of the Mediterranean and a member of the Spanish chapter of the Club of Rome.
