The "la Caixa" Foundation and the UFEC Foundation (Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya) have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of giving visibility and projection to Catalan adapted sport.

The agreement, ratified by the Corporate Director of Education and Marketing of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Xavier Bertolín, and the President of the Catalan Federations Foundation, Isabel Pérez, establishes the installation of artificial intelligence cameras for the live broadcasting of adapted sport competitions, both amateur and grassroots, on the EsportPlus.TV audiovisual content platform.

Thus, in the coming weeks, the digitisation of inclusive sports competitions will be possible thanks to the implementation of 10 automatic playback cameras in 10 sports centres. The aim is for the public to be able to view the competitive activity of sports federations that have disciplines in which athletes with disabilities participate.

For Bertolín, "the dissemination of adapted sport is essential, and being able to contribute to giving the maximum possible visibility to all sportspeople reflects the commitment that we at the "la Caixa" Foundation have to diversity and to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities. New broadcasting and communication channels such as the one in which the UFEC Foundation is working are another step forward in the social inclusion of these people, in the recognition of their sporting merits and the normalisation of their reality".

For his part, Pérez highlighted the "commitment of the UFEC Foundation and the sports federations and clubs to work together to promote the visibility, promote and project adapted sport in Catalonia thanks to the digitisation project of Catalan sport launched through EsportPlus.TV".

Test broadcasts

The EsportPlus.TV channel has been broadcasting in test broadcasts since last September and there are already twenty federations that have opted for the channel. In six weeks of test broadcasts on YouTube, it has accumulated a total of 119 national, state and international sporting events, 39,999 live followers and more than 120,000 accumulated views.

At the end of October, the OTT will transfer the broadcasts to the esportplus.tv web platform, where anyone can sign up to enjoy all the content free of charge until December.
