The "la Caixa" Foundation's More Employment programme has facilitated 4,151 hirings of people at risk of exclusion
Thanks to the "la Caixa" Foundation's More Employment programme, more than 4,100 job placements have been made possible in 2020, the fourth year in which it has been carried out in 29 Spanish provinces. Through 69 projects run by social entities, people at risk of exclusion have followed personalised itineraries that have culminated in their socio-occupational insertion. The participants assisted include a wide range of profiles, some of whom have been referred by social services: young people, people over 45 years of age, people with physical or intellectual disabilities, immigrants or victims of gender violence, among others.
The greatest added value of the programme is the accompaniment of the participants through integrated and personalised itineraries according to the starting point of each participant and the objectives established together with a social technician, who carries out a close follow-up, in such a way as to guarantee the employability of the candidate at the end of the process.
In total, throughout 2020, the programme has assisted 10,235 people and has promoted the training of 6,349 people.
In the words of the Deputy Director General of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Marc Simón: "In these difficult times due to the collateral effects of the pandemic, access to a job is an essential tool to promote social inclusion, especially necessary for people in vulnerable situations. For this reason, at the "la Caixa" Foundation we are committed to this strategy of social and labour insertion; also in the More Employment programme, hand in hand with the European Union".
The "la Caixa" Foundation's More Employment programme is co-financed by the European Social Fund with 30,576,923 euros and by the "la Caixa" Foundation with 10,769,310 euros. The selected projects have obtained annual funding of between 80,000 and 100,000 euros until 2023 and include individualised itineraries, training to improve employability, labour prospecting and intermediation, labour guidance in the active search for employment and, in the event of achieving insertion, support and follow-up for both the person and the company.
The "la Caixa" Foundation, chaired by Isidro Fainé and directed by Antonio Vila, was designated in 2016 as the Intermediate Body of the European Social Fund in the POISES for Spain 2014-2020 and it is within the framework of this programme that it has developed this initiative. The POISES is a response of the Spanish State designed to promote social inclusion and fight against poverty and any form of discrimination. The programme responds to the "la Caixa" Foundation's desire to combat social exclusion, guarantee equal opportunities in access to the labour market and take advantage of the potential of the social economy in the economic recovery.
