Libyan Armed Forces send humanitarian aid for the victims in Valencia

The General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces has announced the dispatch of a humanitarian and medical aid plane from Benina International Airport in Benghazi to Spain.

This initiative comes in response to the catastrophic flooding caused by storm Dana in Valencia that has claimed the lives of more than 220 people.

The operation reflects Libya's solidarity with the Spanish people in these difficult times.
This humanitarian aid package includes 20 water pumps, 35 electric generators, 1,000 pairs of boots, 200 work gloves, 400 boxes with hygiene kits for women and children, and 1,000 boxes of sanitary material worth more than 20,000 euros. The total shipment exceeds 350,000 euros per plane.

International aid
Morocco has sent a fleet of 36 pumping and suction trucks and a hundred drivers and workers specialized in cleaning the drains and unblocking the pipes with mud that once dry obstructs the pipes, one of the biggest problems suffered by the Valencian villages affected by the dana.
These floods caused considerable human and material losses. This new aid is part of the close cooperation relations between the two neighboring countries.

Last week Morocco already mobilized a fleet of 24 pumping and suction trucks, 42 workers and 25 drivers from various companies to clean up and rehabilitate the affected areas after the floods that left more than 220 people dead. In addition to the Moroccan offer, Spain also accepted assistance from France and Portugal.
