According to the SCImago Institutions Ranking (SIR), thirteen Moroccan universities have managed to rank among the 650 best universities and 850 academic institutions in terms of research worldwide.

This global ranking system, SIR, uses an indicator based on performance, results and social impact to rank institutions according to their importance in the field of research.

Thanks to its development work, Morocco has managed to position its universities as benchmarks in various technical fields such as computer science, engineering and mathematics; scientific fields such as biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy; as well as in the world of finance with careers such as commerce, management and accounting.

The ranking places the universities of Mohammed Premier in Oujda, Mohammed V in Rabat, Qadi Ayad in Marrakech, Hassan II in Casablanca, the International University of Rabat (UIR), the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdalah University in Fez and the Sultan Moulay Slimane University in Béni Mellal, which are also ranked among the 110 best universities in the Arab and African region.

Innovation

In this way, Morocco highlights the growth and development in the quality of research conducted by its universities, which also corresponds to the work of the Ministry, and the implementation of framework law 51-17, which, in alignment with the objectives of the new development model, promote innovation in the education and scientific research system.

As part of its involvement, the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a project known as "Campus Connecté" in September to complement framework law 51-17.

The project aims to promote the training of students and teachers by facilitating remote access to institutional resources through the creation of "university establishments and housing estates with a high-speed internet network (WIFI6)", according to the ministry.

The new system will allow students to remotely access their institution's digital resources. The project aims to expand access to intranet resources for the benefit of students anywhere in Morocco.
