Morocco establishes an air bridge to send humanitarian aid to Gaza

Morocco continues its tireless humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in order to alleviate the extremely difficult living conditions of Gazans, who are suffering from Israel's military intervention against the Palestinian extremist group Hamas.
In this vein, the Moroccan kingdom has established an air bridge to send humanitarian aid directly to Gaza.
The aid provided by the Moroccan kingdom departed from the Kenitra air base bound for Ben Gurion airport in Israel, to be subsequently transported by land through the Kerem Shalom crossing, one of the few access points to Gaza that are still available.
The shipment of humanitarian aid bound for Gaza arrived on Wednesday morning at the Kerem Shalom crossing via four Moroccan military aircraft loaded with some 60 tonnes of basic foodstuffs and medicines to be made available to the Gazan population.
This humanitarian aid is invaluable in helping the Gazan population cope with the extremely harsh living conditions in the territory, which is under siege by the Israeli army, which launched a major military operation that has left tens of thousands of victims in response to the terrible attacks carried out by Hamas on 7 October 2023 in Israel, leaving more than 1,200 people dead and 250 hostages captured.
Morocco is playing a leading role in this case due to its effective aid to the Gaza Strip. This airlift is the fourth delivery of a total of 180 tonnes ordered by the Moroccan monarch, Mohammed VI, as part of a humanitarian effort to alleviate the current suffering of the Palestinian civilian population.
The King of Morocco has always been very committed to the Palestinian cause and has shown his support and assistance to the Palestinian people in their most difficult moments. It is no coincidence that the Alawite monarch holds the title of President of Al-Quds, the figure responsible for safeguarding Muslim holy sites, and is always vigilant in providing the necessary humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territories to help the Muslim brotherhood, as he has done on numerous occasions.
Various personalities have publicly thanked the Alawite monarch for his support for the Palestinians, highlighting the tireless efforts of King Mohammed VI on behalf of the Palestinian people through the sending of humanitarian and emergency medical aid.
Fadel Tahboub, a member of the Palestinian National Committee, stressed that ‘the generous initiative of His Majesty the King of Morocco illustrates the full solidarity of the Moroccan people with the Palestinian people’.
For his part, Azzam Al-Hashlamoun, member of the Islamic High Authority of Al-Quds, expressed his ‘sincere thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for his commendable efforts to support the resilience of the Palestinian people’, as reported by the official Moroccan news agency MAP.
