The second season of Creators' Archive arrives at CaixaForum+
Archive of Creators is a project of enormous heritage and documentary value. A real treasure that opens up the world of the most important Spanish creators of our time to the interested public:
- A 10-hour film, in which the protagonists tell in first person, looking directly into the camera, their experience, their life and their ideas. Divided into one-hour chapters, it can be seen at CaixaForum+.
- A 50-minute documentary, designed to be watched on television and in streaming, with the essence of the full conversation. A more informative version, designed to reach a wider audience. It can be seen from the first season on Prime Video and, soon, on RTVE.
- A collection of podcasts, which can be listened to on Audible, CaixaForum+ and Rtve.
- A collection of books that compile the 10 hours of conversation with each creator, in an exciting autobiography, published by La Fábrica and distributed in the most important bookshops in our country.
An ambitious project with the participation of a group of top-level media and platforms:
- CaixaForum+, the new free platform of the "la Caixa" Foundation, will premiere tomorrow, 17 January, the full conversations of this second season of Archivo de Creadores. They will be added to those of the first season, already available on the platform, and all the podcasts will be added soon.
- Also tomorrow Prime Video will release the 50-minute documentaries of the second installment of this project, and will continue to offer the interviews with the creators of the first season.
- Radio Televisión Española is joining Archivo de Creadores and will broadcast the documentaries and podcasts from the first and second seasons free-to-air in the near future, both nationally and on its international channel.
- La Fábrica has already published 10 books of the conversations and will release all the titles in the coming months.
Over the next few years, Archivo de Creadores will collect the legacy of the 100 main creators of Spanish culture in all fields. Filmmakers, writers, actors, musicians, painters and philosophers whose ideas will be collected to guide the steps of future generations.
November 2021 saw the birth of Archivo de Creadores, a project to preserve the legacy of the main voices of contemporary Spanish culture in all fields. At a time of vertiginous transformation of society and values and in which, on occasions, there is a lack of references, Archivo de Creadores emerged as a loudspeaker for those figures who have already become icons of Spanish culture today. Writers, stage directors, artists, musicians, philosophers... who have a lot to say at the present time and whose messages can serve as a guide for future generations.
With this aim in mind, and with the help of La Fábrica and the "la Caixa" Foundation, Creators' Archive has a dual purpose: documentary and archival on the one hand, and informative on the other.
The archiving and conservation aspect is present in the records of the full meetings - with more than 10 hours of conversation - available on the CaixaForum+ platform, from tomorrow 17 January. The unabridged conversations are also available in a collection of books published by La Fábrica.
On the other hand, Archivo de Creadores has 50-minute documentaries in Prime Video and podcasts with the central moments of the meetings. In this second stage of the project, Radio Televisión Española has joined in and will broadcast the documentaries and podcasts from the first and second seasons on free-to-air TVE and Radio Nacional de España. Aware that the promotion of culture in general, and Spanish culture in particular, is one of its main lines of action, RTVE is increasing with Archivo de Creadores its proposals on the great Spanish humanists and intellectuals.
Miquel Barceló, Carmen Linares, Javier Mariscal, Rosa Montero, Josep Pons and José Sacristán in the second season of Archivo de Creadores.
Miquel Barceló, one of Spain's most internationally renowned artists; the flamenco singer Carmen Linares, winner of the 2022 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts; the writer and winner of the National Literature Award Rosa Montero; the conductor Josep Pons, currently in charge of the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra; the designer Javier Mariscal, winner of the National Design Award and one of the main ambassadors of Spanish visual creation; and the actor José Sacristán, one of the most prolific performers in Spanish film and theatre, are the stars of the second season of Archivo de Creadores.
In the first person and with an approachable and sincere style, these creators describe their biography and the most important milestones in their careers, revealing to viewers the most important events that have led them to the place they occupy today in the heritage of culture in our country.
These six people join photographer Alberto García-Alix; writer Antonio Muñoz Molina; designer Patricia Urquiola; architects RCR; film director Fernando Trueba; painter and sculptor Antonio López; film director Isabel Coixet; and chef Juan Mari Arzak, protagonists of the first season of Archivo de Creadores.
For more than 25 years, La Fábrica has been developing, through private initiative, cultural projects linked to creativity, design and the arts that add value to society. From the rigour and humanism of a team of professionals, the involvement of creators from all artistic disciplines and the collaboration of dozens of institutions and brands. Festivals such as PHotoESPAÑA, Madrid Design Festival, Festival Eñe and Notodofilmfest bring together 1.4 million people every year around disciplines as varied as photography, visual arts, design, literature and short films. La Fábrica also conceives, produces and organises photography and visual arts exhibitions by prestigious authors for national and international museums and art centres. It also undertakes projects for the design, programming and management of artistic creation centres, such as the Royal Botanical Garden in Madrid. And, through Fundación Contemporánea, it promotes training and exchange in the field of cultural management.
