The Incorpora programme of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation has promoted 42,555 job placements for people in vulnerable situations in 2024, reaffirming its efficiency in the field of employment integration. This result has been achieved thanks to the commitment of 16,652 companies that have made a commitment to social responsibility.

Although we are in a time of economic recovery and employment is reaching record levels, access to the labour market is unequal. Certain groups find it more difficult to access employment and develop a productive activity due to socio-economic factors, health, origin, disability, cultural diversity, age, lack of training/accreditation, among others.

In order to break down these visible and invisible barriers that hinder access to employment for these people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion, since 2006 the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation has been promoting the Incorpora Programme with the aim of improving their social and occupational integration.

In all the insertion processes promoted by Incorpora, the networking of 487 social entities spread throughout the territory is essential. Through the 1,182 guidance and job prospecting technicians, they design personalised itineraries that value the potential of each person, encourage their autonomy and promote their active participation to improve their employability.

The Incorpora programme strengthens the links between the social sector and the business fabric, highlighting in this process the importance of business awareness to promote more diverse and inclusive work environments.

The companies that participate in the programme not only generate employment opportunities for vulnerable groups, but also position themselves as agents of social change, promoting diversity and social and occupational inclusion and thus contributing to corporate social sustainability.

Through their commitment to social and labour inclusion, these companies contribute to SDG 8 (‘Decent work and economic growth’) and SDG 10 (‘Reducing inequalities’), included in the United Nations 2030 Agenda, by opening up new employment opportunities for vulnerable groups.

‘The Incorpora programme is based on the establishment of alliances between social organisations and the business sector, which raises awareness of the value of diversity in the workplace and promotes the social and occupational integration of people at risk of exclusion, thus contributing to the concept of the territory as an agent of change’, says the Deputy Director General of the “la Caixa” Foundation, Marc Simón.

Thanks to this model of networked collaboration, a total of 42,555 people were hired in 2024, representing not only a gateway to the world of work, but also a new opportunity to transform the lives of these people in vulnerable situations.

Traditional sectors for recruitment such as hotels and catering, commerce, cleaning, social and health care, transport and logistics, but also industry or administrative activities and auxiliary services have been essential to materialise these opportunities, in a total of 16,652 different companies.

At a territorial level, the 42,555 job placements facilitated by Incorpora in 2024 are divided into: 39,048 in Spain, 1,746 in Portugal, 805 in Morocco, 429 in Hungary and 527 in Poland.

Training to improve employability

In order to improve the employability of people who are more vulnerable to employment, the programme promotes training actions, with the direct involvement of companies. The Incorpora Training Points design training actions that enable the development of transversal skills and technical-professional training for the most vulnerable people, taking into account the specific needs of the business fabric of the territory, with the ultimate aim of generating real employment opportunities in those areas where there is the greatest demand from companies.

In 2024, a total of 1,793 companies have collaborated directly in the 307 training actions that have been organised for a total of 5,607 people. Companies are involved in the training actions from the definition of content to the provision of technical training and the implementation of non-labour practices.

Digital skills are also essential tools for the labour market insertion process. For this reason, and with the aim of reducing the digital divide among the most vulnerable people when looking for a job, the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation and the Accenture Foundation have promoted the Working in digital training so that these groups are not left behind. In 2024, more than 7,500 people took part in this training, boosting their digital skills.

Incorpora, a collaboration model that transforms lives

The main aim of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation's Incorpora programme is to promote the inclusion in the labour market of people at risk of social exclusion.

Since its launch in 2006, more than 438,000 people in vulnerable situations have obtained employment through Incorpora. This has been possible thanks to the networking of nearly 500 social organisations and the collaboration of more than 96,000 socially responsible companies from different sectors that see the Incorpora Programme of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation as an opportunity to promote corporate social responsibility in labour integration.
