Agreement between the Saudi Media Forum and the FIPP
The Saudi Media Forum has formalised a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Federation of Publishers (FIPP), recognised as one of the leading international entities dedicated to development in the media and publishing sector.
The signing took place during the FIPP World Media Congress, a leading global event in the field of communication and digital media. Held in Madrid, this meeting brought together leading international publishers and industry leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the media industry.
The Saudi Media Forum was represented by its Secretary General, Mansur Al-Enzi, and Wael Al-Maliki, Head of Content, acting on behalf of Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, President of the Forum and Executive Director of the Saudi Radio and Television Authority. The FIPP was represented by its Executive Director, Alastair Lewis, who was also one of the keynote speakers invited to the 2026 Saudi Media Forum, which will take place in Riyadh from 2 to 4 February next year.
Objectives of the collaboration
This memorandum is part of the strategy of the Saudi Media Forum, which aims to create high-level international alliances that promote the development of the national media ecosystem. It also seeks to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences with some of the leading global institutions in the sector.
The collaboration is designed to promote cooperation in key areas such as digital transformation, emerging technologies, and research and development in media. It also envisages the launch of joint initiatives for training and capacity building, strengthening the competitiveness of the Saudi media ecosystem at the regional and international levels.
Implications for the Saudi media landscape
The signing of this agreement represents a significant step forward in the Forum's strategy to expand its international reach by establishing communication links and institutional partnerships with globally recognised media organisations. This contributes to positioning Saudi Arabia as a key platform for global dialogue on media issues and as an influential player in the future evolution of the global media industry.
The collaboration with the FIPP, which has decades of experience and brings together more than 700 organisations, including around 60 international media associations, reflects a growing confidence in the role of the Saudi Media Forum as a dynamic force both domestically and globally. This agreement also reaffirms its role as a link between international experiences and Saudi Arabia's national vision for the development of the media sector.
Through these international partnerships, the Saudi Media Forum is consolidating its image as a leading platform in Saudi Arabia. It embodies the country's vision of building a professional and influential media system focused on strengthening global communication, developing human capital and anticipating the future of modern media based on innovation, technology and knowledge.
