The second edition of the awards gala was held in Madrid and, out of more than 550 nominations, seven women were the winners

The #WomenStartupAwards are consolidated with the aim of generating benchmarks for female entrepreneurship

#WomenStartupAwards

After the successful first edition, the #WomenStartupAwards repeat as a reference ceremony for female entrepreneurship in Spain. The AWS Auditorium, in the Foster Tower in Madrid, once again hosted the second edition of these awards. The awards are aimed at female entrepreneurs, founders, CEOs and managers of Spanish startups that have registered their candidacies at www.womenstartupawards.es during the month of October.

Over the last few weeks, more than 550 nominations have been received from courageous, entrepreneurial women with positions of responsibility and with a great track record as entrepreneurs. Women with high potential, in multiple industries and with different stories and experiences that make them unique.

Seven of them have won after a selection process that has been carried out by a neutral jury of experts representing the entrepreneurial ecosystem: public sector, universities, accelerators, ScaleUps, investors and major technology companies.

This is an event created and promoted by the Spanish Startup Association, which works to make Spain the best country in which to innovate. This meeting aims to strengthen the role of women in a sector with a growing presence in Spain, but where only 18% of Spanish startups are led by women, a proportion that has not changed in the last 10 years. This is why this gala aims to recognise and give visibility to female entrepreneurship leaders.

Carlos Mateo Enseñat, president of the Spanish Startup Association, expressed his enthusiasm for this event: "We are delighted to present these awards as an opportunity to recognise and applaud the achievements of exceptional women in the startup field. We hope this event will inspire other women to follow in their footsteps and bring their unique talents to the entrepreneurial world.
