Atletico radicals foul derby of shame protected by the club

Between Militao's goal and Correa's, the match was suspended for 20 minutes

The real owners of Atletico Madrid reminded the football world once again who is in charge at the club. Neither Gil Marín nor Enrique Cerezo, nor the players or Simeone himself, they run the club, they command and order. They have their sanctuary in the bowels of the Metropolitano and an altar in the south end from where they claim to cheer on their team.

Masked at night, when they hang Vinicius dolls from the bridges surrounding Valdebebas. With the same masks they wear at training sessions to ask the players for explanations for the defeats. The same ones who have two murders behind them, one at the Manzanares and the other at the gates of the Vicente Calderón.

Nobody dares to touch a group of radicals who deeply hate Real Madrid, even though at the time their leaders and those of Ultras Sur were mixed up because football is the least important thing when they have ideologies to defend against those who violently defend opposing ideas. An example: the Osasuna hooligans who call for ETA to plant bombs in El Pilar as a demonstration of resentment towards Zaragoza.

This problem is more serious than racism and LaLiga should attack it with something more than weekly complaints to Antiviolencia. Those who threw lighters at Courtois and wished him dead were the same people who in 2006, 18 years ago, threw a (surely empty) Ballantines bottle at the Calderón after a Sevilla goal conceded by Ayza Gámez.

LaLiga protocols made it easy for referee Busquets Ferrer, first warning over the public address system and suspension of the match with the players going to the dressing rooms. In the middle of the battle and with Militao's goal on the scoreboard, it is understandable that Koke and Simeone went to the back to ask for calm, it is even less justifiable that the captain approached several hooded men face to face to talk to them, but no one can understand what happened afterwards.

The game resumed, the VAR gave Atletico Madrid a legal goal from Correa that put the tie on the scoreboard and made Barca's defeat in Pamplona less painful. Llorente was sent off after hunting Fran García in the tibia. But after the shower and with the revolutions low, the two leaders of the team decided to protect the radicals backed by scarf-wearing journalists who began to point out guilty parties dressed in white, even using the ideology ‘neo-Nazi’ to let slip that in Spain there are more people who support these groups in a creeping reference to political parties.

Simeone and Koke put the target on Courtois, the former red and white goalkeeper was thrown several lighters and bags of food, nothing hit his body, but he collected the evidence of the crime to hand it to the referee so that a decision could be taken. The Belgian was accused of being a provocateur and Simeone said: ‘It's not justified and they have to throw the guilty ones out, but they can also punish those of us who provoke‘. Koke was not brave either and left a message for Courtois: ‘We players have to be more intelligent‘. What's more, the captain was expressly asked if the Frente Atlético should disappear from the Metropolitano and the atrocious fear of those people only allowed him to say that this is something the club has to decide.

Atlético de Madrid will wait for the tide to go out. A communiqué, maybe a few people expelled by the club and nothing more. Gil and Cerezo don't have the courage or the capacity to get rid of these guys who do business with the red and white shirt. Real Madrid or Barça did wipe those groups off the map from their stands, but they are still around the clubs and take advantage of any occasion to travel, enter Copa del Rey matches or go to watch the reserve teams.

The 1-1 draw was of no use to either team. Barça's defeat was less bad and the first-half football was an ordeal to watch. Ancelotti pulled Modric to control the midfield and Simeone fielded his trademark trident of Griezmann, Sorloth and Julian Alvarez.

In the end, the team further embarrassed the shield with a celebration in front of the radicals that angered the rest of the fans. Don't try to understand.
