Brahim gives Morocco victory over Lesotho
Brahim Díaz continues to shine with the Moroccan national football team. The Real Madrid player completed another great performance with the Atlas Lions and scored the winning goal against Lesotho (1-0).
The Real Madrid striker had another great game for the national team and broke the deadlock in a match that was heading for a goalless draw against a weak Lesotho side in a group B Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Adrar stadium in Agadir.
Brahim received a ball just outside the box in the 93rd minute and after two cutbacks in the area he sent a low shot just wide of the post that the goalkeeper could do nothing about, making it 1-0.
The Spanish-Moroccan striker continues to play at a high level and ratifies the good performances he has also had with Real Madrid, both last season when he was a very important part of the squad to achieve the Spanish League and the 15th European Cup title for the Madrid club and so far this season complementing a dream attack with players like Vinicius, Mbappé, Rodrygo or Bellingham.
The Real Madrid striker's brilliant play helped them win a tough match against minnows Lesotho, allowing Walid Regragui's national team to continue their unblemished run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group, having won the previous match against Gabon 4-1.
The match against Lesotho was a difficult one despite Morocco's overwhelming dominance of the game and multiple chances that augured another Moroccan thrashing as in previous matches against Gabon and Congo, where the Atlas Lions won 6-0 in a qualifier for the next World Cup.
The progress of the Moroccan team is very good in view of the next Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco between 21 December 2025 and 18 January 2026.
Morocco's competitiveness has been remarkable in this qualification phase despite the fact that they have an automatic berth as hosts of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco continues in a very good line under coach Walid Regragui, confirming the good trajectory of the national football team since achieving fourth place at the last World Cup in Qatar; a historic milestone because Morocco became the first Arab and African country to reach the semi-finals of a football World Cup.
The Atlas Lions, with a great team with players such as Brahim, Ounahi, El Kaabi, Riad and Ziyech, are aiming for the best in the next African continental tournament and, why not, in the next World Cup in 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
