FIFA 22: cover, price, release date and 'Super League'

Their goal is to attract as many gamers as possible. In order to make the game more exciting and attract new fans, the company aims to avoid exhausting gamers. Therefore, it is said that the FUT Champions matchday will possibly be modified. It is speculated that 20 matches will be played instead of some 30 that were played in past editions.

The intention is to make the format more flexible and allow more people to enjoy the competition. The dispute of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus for the issue of the 'Superliga' makes a change in the teams possible.

This would make it less attractive. It is difficult for the EUFA to clamp down on these three teams. It would need to give serious thought to the interests that would be affected. Not only with video games, but also with TV rights, commercial brands and other businesses around football.

A similar situation to that of Serie A could arise. Essentially, if EA Sports reaches an agreement, everything will continue as normal; otherwise, a similar situation could arise with Juventus or Roma in FIFA 21, called Pieomenta Calcio and Rome FC for failing to reach an agreement.

Kylian Mbappé was on the cover of FIFA 21 last year. Cristiano Ronaldo appeared in FIFA 18 and FIFA 19. Eden Hazard was a bad deal in FIFA 20.

The Belgian was also in FIFA 15, the year when he was at his fittest. Leo Messi was on the cover of FIFA 13, 14, 15 and 16.

British Wayne Rooney holds the record for the number of appearances on the cover of the videogame. He was there from FIFA 06 to FIFA 12. Seven games in a row.

This year we may wait to see how the Euro Cup of Nations or the Copa America evolves. But if a player with an outstanding performance does not appear, it seems that the Norwegian Erling Haaland, star of Borussia Dortmund, will be the chosen one.

The launch date seems to be in early October, as it was last year. A game demo version will be launched, but not all teams will be available. In 2020 it was officially launched in October 9th, although some lucky paid players got early access to the game:  those who bought the Champions or Ultimate Edition.

There is a lot of talk about the price and rumours suggest it will be around $55, about €45. Extra 30 dollars, 25 euros for the hardcore fans, will be charged for the Ultimate Edition or the Champions Edition. They will have their icons and special kits.

The new game will be available on PlayStation, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, as FIFA 20.

An event will be held on June 10, where some of the unknowns may be revealed.
